1)If he had not kill King Duncan,he may not even be the next king in the first place. If he is fated to be the rightful king,he would not need to resort to such dirty acts just to attain the throne. The witches’ might also come up with fake prophecies just to turn Macbeth into a evil and vicious person.Lady Macbeth also persuaded him strongly to be the king and have all the powers himself to control others.I doubt M acbeth is evil by nature but because of the witches’ appearance,it totally changed his personality.

2)Dear Macbeth,

I think that this prophecy will be true as well.I don’t think that you are cruel enough to kill someone who treated so well in the past.I should carry out the plan myself to kill King Duncan when he comes to the castle for the stayover.I will go into his room in the middle of the nightafter making the soldiers drunked and stabbed hie with the dagger.Next, we will blame it on the soldiers for not fulfilling their duties to protect the king. Please give me your advice and opinions.

From,
Macbeth

Q1)
In my opinion, if Macbeth had not kill Duncan, he would most probably not be king and continued life the way it always was. As Duncan made Malcolm heir to the throne, Macbeth would not have a chance to be king. A prophecy alone given to Macbeth by the three witches would not come true if Macbeth does not pursue his destiny.

Q2)
My charming husband,
Wow, can you believe those witches? Two of their prophecies have already came true and there’s certainly no particular reason why the third and last one wouldn’t, don’t you think? Well, since you’re destined to become king, let’s make it quick and easy for Duncan. He wouldn’t even know who killed him till he’s dead. We’ll make his servants and guards drunk and we’ll plunge a knife into his throat. By the time he’s cursing us from hell, I’d be torturing his wife and making her life worse than hell. Anyways, hope to see soon.
Loving you 4ever,
Your admirable lover ❤

1) Had Macbeth not chosen to kill Duncan, do you think he would have eventually become king? Why?

If Macbeth didn’t kill Duncan, I think he may not be the next king. If he is fated to be the king, no evil acts will be needed to be carried out to fulfill his destiny. Furthermore, the witches’ prophecies may not be true too. They may have came up with the prophecies to lead Macbeth onto carrying out such evil acts, under his wife’s persuasion. Macbeth’s cold and evil wife also contributes to such evil acts that Macbeth had done as she questioned his character when he was doubtful of what to do, which quicken his way to succeed the throne.

2) During e-learning, you wrote a short email from Macbeth to his wife. Now as Lady Macbeth, write a short reply to her husband via email as well.

Dear sweetheart,
Are the witches’ prophecies really true?? Then quickly kill Duncan and succeed the throne already! Do not get so soft hearted and carry this action out bravely! Think of the future that we can have and do not hesitate! With the throne, we can have all the power we want and eliminate our enemies! Now, listen to me and get rid of Duncan for our predestined future as predicted by the witches! Do adhere to my advice and return to me soon.
Your darling,
Lady Macbeth

1) Had Macbeth not chosen to kill King Duncan do you think he would have eventually become king?

I do not think that Macbeth would have become the king if he did not kill King Duncan. As King Duncan’s elder son, Malcolm, is the heir to the throne. If Macbeth did not kill King Duncan, Malcolm would be the next king. The prophecy was also to lure Macbeth into killing Duncan and Duncan had already announced that Malcolm would succeed the throne.Macbeth will not have any chance at all.

2) During your e-learning, you wrote a short email from Macbeth to his wife. Now as Lady Macbeth, write a short reply to her husband via email.

Dear Honey Pie,

It’s been long since i heard from you, baby! Maybe that prophecy made by those 3 old and ugly hags are true but you know what? I love that idea!!!  You are suited to be the king, anyway. You can count me in too! Let’s bring that Duncan down together! I try to work on the plan and when i figure it out then i will send to you another email! I know, i know, come let’s call this project ” Forget you” so people dont suspect. I cannot wait for this to happen, baby! It’s like a totally dream come true, hon.  Come home soon okay, baby? You always make me worry and when you come home, i’ll try to have the plan ready so i can discuss with you.

P.S. Try not to be such a cow and soft-hearted person. YOU MUST NOT HESITATE TOO! Heheh:>

From your hottest babe and the love of your life,

Lady Macbeth;D

Love me cause i love you.<3

Q1)Had Macbeth not chosen to kill King Duncan,do you think he would have eventually become king? Why?

I personally think that if Macbeth had stood to his own will and resisted the temptation to kill king Duncan,he would not have became the king.King Duncan had already announced Malcom as the prince of Cumberland and thus for Macbeth to vie for the throne would nearly be impossibe.Lady Macbeth had also played an important role by in instigating Macbeth to kill Duncan and as for Macbeth , he was being taken in by the evil prophecy that cause him to kill Duncan.

Q2)During e-learning, you wrote a short email from Macbeth to his wife. Now as lady Macbeth, write a short reply to her husband via email as well.

Dear Macbeth,

It would be brilliant for you to ascend the throne. Having heard of the two prophecy becoming true,i am quiet sure that the next one would also most probably be an authentic one so i have already drafted a plan for you to become king. Since Duncan is coming to Inverness tonight , lets strike while the iron is hot.I have a superb scheme in mind and it would be killing Duncan in his sleep and then framing the guards for performing the evil deed.Come back swiftly and i will tell you in detail.

The Setting:  Inside Macbeth’s castle

Lady Macbeth carrying a letter.

Lady Macbeth: I met them on the day of my success, and I knew about the most reliable report. Then, I wanted to know furthermore and when I was about to ask them the things I want  to know, they disappear already. After that, the messengers from the king came and tell me that I was hailed by the king as Thane of Cawdor- the title that those witches saluted me and referred me to the coming future, with “ Hail, King that shalt be!” I think that may be nice to report to you these things so that you will be happy and excited. Keep these things secret although that is exciting.

Oh my thane of Cawdor, I just afraid that you are good-natured to follow the nearest way. That wouldn’t be great- the mind with ambition, but without wickedness. You always want to get anything by fair means, you don’t want to cheat nor you are not happy to win unfairly. Thane of Glamis, you don’t want to do yourself those cheating, so you just want other do for you.Hurry home so that I can influence you with courage and ruthlessness. I can also beat down with my arguments everything that stands between you and the crown. All supernatural help come to me and make him get the crown.

A messenger came into the room.

Lady Macbeth: What is your news?

Messenger: The King comes here tonight.

Lady Macbeth: I think you are mad to tell me those things. If the king come, the master must be with you. Where is he? He didn’t tell me to prepare for it.

Messenger: It is true that our king is coming here. Master sent a messenger to inform you.

Lady Macbeth: He brings great news. ( The messenger exit) The evil spirits who were listeining come and take away my female qualities and fill me with the cruelty! Make my blood thick and stop up those access remorse so that no pangs of conscience can disturb my murderous plans. All my female qualities disappear and make me serve the evil in nature. Come, thick night, and cover yourself in the darkest smoke of hell because I don’t want to stop my plan.

Enter Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth: Oh my great Cawdor! The letters have transported beyond not knowing what will happen in the future and now I know what is happening.

Macbeth: My dearest love, King is coming here tonight.

Lady Macbeth: When will he come?

Macbeth: Tomorrow, as his purpose.

Lady Macbeth: Oh! Well your face is like a book that the men can read  your mind by looking at your face. To deceive people, look as they expect you to look at the time. All your parts of body must look like innocent flower but under that yours must be like a snake. Let’s me do this part- to kill the king. Then, our future will give the absolute power of being King.

Macbeth: We’ll speak further.

Lady Macbeth: Just appear innocent. Changing your expression is always a sign of fear. Leave others things to me.

Exeunt.

question one,

If Macbeth had not killed Duncan, he may still be the king. If he is really destinied to be the king, even if he doesnt kill Duncan or not even do anything, he will still become the king. However, he wanted to be the King soon after he heard the witches’ prophecy and hence resulted to underhand means just to become the King. Also, i think that Lady Macbeth is making Macbeth think that killing Duncan is correct just so that Macbeth would become King, and Lady Macbeth can lead a comfortable life.

question two,

WHAT?! You wanna kill Duncan? Awesome plan, honey! Count me in too yeah! If being King is in your destiny, why not be King faster? Go ahead, baby. Only with Duncan killed, you’ll get to be the King! I know you are doing this for the family, so let me be in it with you. I can’t bear to see you doing this all alone. You are too good natured to bring yourself to kill him, i know. I’m already thinking of a plan that would make Duncan dead by tonight and people won’t have the slightest clue that its you! You are thinking now that you have married such a great wife. i know. save your praises honey. just come on home and i’ll tell you the awesome plan to open you up to your path to be King! I love you, honey. Please come home soon. I really miss you. I know you miss me more.

Love,

your awesome baby. (jocelyn,17. 2F)

2g group 7 scene 7

macbeth: If it were done when ’tis done, then ’twere well
It were done quickly: if the assassination
Could trammel up the consequence, and catch
With his surcease success; that but this blow
Might be the be-all and the end-all here,
But here, upon this bank and shoal of time,
We’ld jump the life to come. But in these cases
We still have judgment here; that we but teach
Bloody instructions, which, being taught, return
To plague the inventor: this even-handed justice
Commends the ingredients of our poison’d chalice
To our own lips. He’s here in double trust;
First, as I am his kinsman and his subject,
Strong both against the deed; then, as his host,
Who should against his murderer shut the door,
Not bear the knife myself. Besides, this Duncan
Hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been
So clear in his great office, that his virtues
Will plead like angels, trumpet-tongued, against
The deep damnation of his taking-off;
And pity, like a naked new-born babe,
Striding the blast, or heaven’s cherubim, horsed
Upon the sightless couriers of the air,
Shall blow the horrid deed in every eye,
That tears shall drown the wind. I have no spur
To prick the sides of my intent, but only
Vaulting ambition, which o’erleaps itself
And falls on the other.

INTERPRETATION:

If this business would really be finished when I did the deed, then it would be best to get it over with quickly. If the assassination of the king could work like a net, sweeping up everything and preventing any consequences, then the murder would be the be-all and end-all of the whole affair, and I would gladly put my soul and the afterlife at risk to do it. But for crimes like these there are still punishments in this world. By committing violent crimes we only teach other people to commit violence, and the violence of our students will come back to plague us teachers. Justice, being equal to everyone, forces us to drink from the poisoned cup that we serve to others. The king trusts me in two ways. First of all, I am his kinsman and his subject, so I should always try to protect him. Second, I am his host, so I should be closing the door in his murderer’s face, not trying to murder him myself. Besides, Duncan has been such a humble leader, so free of corruption, that his virtuous legacy will speak for him when he dies, as if angels were playing trumpets against the injustice of his murder. Pity, like an innocent newborn baby, will ride the wind with winged angels on invisible horses through the air to spread news of the horrible deed to everyone everywhere. People will shed a flood of tears that will drown the wind like a horrible downpour of rain. I can’t spur myself to action. The only thing motivating me is ambition, which makes people rush ahead of themselves toward disaster.
